Welcome to Mrs Conway and Mrs Horstman's Year4/5 class.
Welcome to 2009! This year we will be part of a team-teaching partnership. We will be working closely together to provide each child with a supportive learning environment and a curriculum that caters for each child’s individual needs.
Mrs Tanya Conway
Each week I will be working on Mondays and Tuesdays. I have worked in a variety of schools throughout Queensland, which has provided me with a range of skills and unique experiences.
Ms Jade Horstman
I will be working for the rest of the school week. I too have worked in a variety of schools throughout Queensland but have spent the majority of my career in the Childers area.
Communication
We feel passionate about establishing a collaborative and open working partnership with parents and students. This year the students will be provided with a communication book. This will allow all of us the opportunity to effectively communicate with each other. The communication book may include messages about your child’s behaviour, resources, special days, happy news etc. Please be sure that you regularly check your child’s bag, and sign the message so we know you have seen important information.
Behaviour
We will be following the positive behaviour management plan of our school. We will also be providing students with a rewards based system within the classroom. This system will allow students to work towards rewards such as no homework; class helper; free time; and computer activities.
Homework
We appreciate that all of us have busy family lives and it is sometimes difficult to complete required tasks. With this in mind we will be providing the students with a weekly homework sheet and a list of spelling words. Occasionally your child may bring home a project task to complete. But we do try to complete the majority of these projects at school.

Cheers
Tanya and Jade
